About Me

■        I  was elected as Peterborough City Councillor in Fletton and Woodston in May this year. Last year I stood in Bretton South, and won that ward from an Independent Councillor, the only swing to the Conservatives that year in the Peterborough Constituency.  In August 2015 I took over responsibility for Children’s Services as lead member. In 2016 I was selected to represent the Conservative Party in Fletton and Woodston Ward, because Bretton South became part of the new West Ward.

■         I have been living in Peterborough for some years and I am committed to making the City a better, safer, and more prosperous place to live.  I live particularly close to the Thorpe Gate area, which has joined the Fletton and Woodston Ward for the first time, although I also know the original Woodston and Fletton areas well.

■        After a long career in London as a Scotland Yard detective, I know that crime and disorder can quickly make our homes feel unsafe.  The residents of Fletton and Woodston enjoy a close sense of community, and want to live free from crime and disorder.  I will do all I can to influence local Police and Council workers to keep our area safe.

■        Community spirit comes about through local people being prepared to put in time and effort to run their community associations, clubs and sports groups. I have a track record of running successful voluntary groups and  I am a strong supporter of individuals and groups who care about their local community and want to make the local area a better place in which to live, work and play.  I will support residents’ associations, community association buildings and local action groups who do so many good things for local residents.

■        We deserve to have efficient, well run services that are value for money.  I will do all I can to make sure that the Council concentrates on delivering a really good level of service, using efficient and affordable services.

■        For Peterborough to become more prosperous, we have to support and promote our local businesses. I will keep a close eye on opportunities to bring employment into Peterborough so that local people can find good quality work and I will support local residents running businesses and bringing prosperity into the City.

■        It is extremely important that your local councillor communicates with local residents. I will make myself available to you and if you ask me to act on your behalf I promise to get back to you as quickly as I can.
